Thicker layers are the only way you will obtain the same level of insulation provided by closed cell spray foam. As such, it is well worth discussing its use with a lender prior to having either closed or open cell spray foam insulation installed in your property. You should also consider the resell value of your property, and whether a buyer’s lender would be okay with spray foam insulation. You may find the buyer walks away from the sale because a lender does not consider applications for properties with this type of insulation.
